Day 1: Arrival in Manali: Self-Exploration of Manali
- As the sun rises over the Himalayas, you’ll finally arrive in Manali, often called the Valley of Gods.
- You’ll head straight to your mountain hotel, where a warm welcome and hot tea await you.
- After checking in and resting for a bit, you’ll begin exploring some of Manali’s most iconic spots.
- Start with the serene Hidimba Temple, surrounded by tall deodar trees, and then take a short hike to Jogni Waterfall, a hidden green escape that feels refreshing and peaceful.
- Later, relax at the natural hot water springs at Vashisht Temple, the perfect way to soothe your body before days of riding.
- In the evening, explore Manali’s lively streets for shopping, cafés, and local food, from steaming momos to siddu.

Day 2: Ride From Manali To Sarchu: Via Atal Tunnel, The Adventure Begins
- After breakfast, you’ll do a final check of your riding gear and meet the group for a quick ride briefing before starting your first major ride of the expedition.
- The adventure officially begins as you ride through the legendary Atal Tunnel, one of the world’s longest tunnels at this altitude, and emerge into the rugged landscapes of Lahaul Valley.
- The scenery turns dramatic as the Chandra River flows beside you and the mountains begin to look wilder with every kilometre.
- You’ll cross charming towns like Keylong and ride through remote stretches like Darcha and Patsio, making stops at high-altitude points like Zingzing Bar for tea and to catch your breath.
- Later, you’ll witness the stunning Suraj Tal Lake, a crystal-clear alpine lake that feels like a postcard, before climbing up to Baralacha La Pass at 4,829 metres, where the real highaltitude riding begins to hit.

Day 3: Sarchu To Leh

- Today is a full biker’s dream day, packed with iconic routes and high-altitude milestones.
- You begin with the legendary Gata Loops, a series of 21 sharp hairpin bends that test your skill and endurance while giving you unreal mountain views.
- The ride continues as you conquer Nakee La and Lachung La, both towering high passes that make you feel like you’re riding through the sky.
- Stop at Pang, a high-altitude military transit camp, for a much-needed hot meal before heading into one of the most surreal landscapes of the entire route — the Moore Plains.
- This 50-kilometre stretch of open straight road at extreme altitude feels endless, cinematic, and freeing, and if you’re lucky, you might spot marmots or wild kiang running across the plains.
- Next comes Tanglang La, another major milestone where the winds are colder, but the views are even bigger.
- By evening, you’ll arrive in Leh, check into your hotel, and finally experience the feeling of reaching Ladakh after days of riding.

Day 4: Leh To Nubra Valley Via Khardung La, Riding Through The Clouds
- Before leaving Leh, you will make a quick stop at Shanti Stupa for panoramic views and a peaceful start to the day.
- Then, it’s time for a heart-racing climb to Khardung La, one of the world’s highest motorable passes.
- The ride up is thrilling and iconic, and reaching the top feels like a serious achievement.
- As you descend from the pass, the landscape transforms dramatically — rugged mountains open into wide valleys, the Shyok River winds through the terrain, and Nubra Valley begins to feel like a different world.
- You’ll visit Diskit Monastery, home to the massive 106-foot Maitreya Buddha statue overlooking the valley, and then head to Hunder, famous for its rolling sand dunes and rare double-humped Bactrian camels.
- You can also opt for an ATV ride in the dunes for a full adventure experience.

Day 6: Pangong To Hanle Via Rezang La Remote Roads And Hero Stories

- On the way, we’ll pass through Chushul, a high-altitude border town known for its strategic importance and dramatic landscapes.
- Our most powerful stop today will be the Rezang La War Memorial, built in honour of the brave Indian soldiers who gave their lives during the 1962 Indo-China war.
- After paying respects, we’ll continue our ride through vast open roads and rugged terrain, stopping for lunch along the way depending on time.
- We’ll cross the iconic Loma Bridge over the Indus River and ride through landscapes that feel completely wild and untouched, arriving in Hanle by evening.

Day 7: Umling La Excursion Conquer The Highest Motorable Road In The World

- The roads today are rough, remote, and absolutely unforgettable as we climb higher through Ladakh’s extreme terrain, crossing Photi La at 5,524 metres along the way.
- Every kilometre feels like a victory as we push toward Umling La at 5,640 metres, higher than Everest Base Camp.
- Standing at the top is a moment of pure achievement — panoramic views, epic photos, and the kind of feeling you’ll remember forever.
- On the way back, we’ll cross another high-altitude pass, Nurbu La, before stopping for lunch and heading back toward Hanle.
- If time permits, we may visit the famous Hanle Observatory, the highest space observatory in India known for its advanced astronomical research.

Day 8: Hanle To Leh Via Chumathang Scenic Return To Base

- After breakfast, we begin our scenic drive back to Leh, passing through beautiful towns like Chumathang, Upshi, Karu, Thiksey, and Shey.

Day 9: Leh To Kargil Via Namika La And Fotu La
- After breakfast, we leave Leh behind and begin our ride toward Kargil, with some legendary stops along the way.
- Our first stop is the Hall of Fame, a tribute to the Indian Army that gives you a deep sense of pride and a stronger connection to the land you’ve been riding through.
- Next, we visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a peaceful and sacred place dedicated to Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
- From here, we head to Magnetic Hill, where the landscape creates an optical illusion that makes vehicles appear to roll uphill — a fun and mind-bending stop
- We’ll also visit the Sangam Point, where the Indus and Zanskar rivers meet, creating a stunning view that feels cinematic

Day 10: Kargil To Srinagar Via Sonmarg, Drass & Zoji La
- Today you begin your return journey to Srinagar, known as paradise on Earth, and the ride is full of dramatic scenery and iconic roads.
- You’ll pass through Drass, the second coldest inhabited place in the world, often called the Gateway to Ladakh.
- The highlight of the day is crossing Zoji La Pass, one of India’s most thrilling and adventurous high-altitude routes with sharp turns and raw terrain that makes every rider feel accomplished.
- Later, you’ll stop at Sonmarg, a beautiful golden meadow that once lay on the ancient Silk Route, offering stunning valley views and a perfect pause to breathe it all in.
- By evening, you’ll arrive in Srinagar, check into your hotel, unwind, and enjoy the Kashmiri vibes one last time as the trip wraps up with memories that will stay with you forever.

Day 11: Kargil To Srinagar
- Wake up to a peaceful morning in Srinagar, enjoy breakfast, and pack your bags as the journey comes to an end.
- You will be transferred to Srinagar Airport for your onward flight home.

About the Trip
The 11 Days Ladakh Tour Package with Umling La is a complete Himalayan circuit that takes you from the mountains of Himachal to the valleys of Kashmir. Starting from Delhi, the journey travels through Manali and Sarchu, reaches the heart of Ladakh in Leh, explores Nubra Valley, Pangong Tso, Hanle, conquers Umling La – the world’s highest motorable road, and finally exits via Kargil to Srinagar.
This itinerary is designed for travelers who want more than just sightseeing — high-altitude passes, remote border villages, historic war memorials, cold deserts, alpine lakes, and dramatic road journeys define every day. Ending the trip in Srinagar adds a beautiful contrast with lush valleys and scenic meadows, making this one of the most complete Ladakh experiences available.
Important Notes
- Your Ladakh journey doesn’t just leave you with memories, it leaves a mark. As part of this trip, 1% of the total revenue is donated to a local school in Turtuk, a remote village near the Indo-Pakistan border.
- Biking option is available from May onwards, since it's not safe to ride on the mountain passes during the April month because of Black-ice formation.
- Numerous factors such as weather, road conditions, the physical ability of participants etc. May cause itinerary change. We reserve the rights to change any schedule in the interest of safety, comfort and general wellbeing.
- The age limit of our group departures is 16 to 42 years due to the power packed itineraries that we provide to our travellers. We can customise trips for travellers beyond the mentioned age bracket.
- The itinerary may change based on the weather and road conditions. It's important to acclimatize properly and drink plenty of water to avoid altitude sickness.
- You will be travelling to High Altitude cold desert places of India. It's advisable to consult your personal doctors for any sort of medical awareness before travelling.
- There are very few medical facilities/hospitals available at such remote locations and Desh Videsh shall not be responsible for any such of Medical emergency thus occurred. However any kind of support with respect to arranging logistics will be arranged if required and the expenses shall be borne by the clients. Please consult your personal doctor and we advise you to be physically fit and healthy before travelling. Do mention any sort of prior health issues before travelling so that we can advise you correctly.
- ₹10,000/- needs to be submitted as security for the bike before the start of the trip. Any damage to the bike, except engine damage, has to be borne directly by the client
